Taylor Public Library
The Taylor Public Library offers a variety of services as well as a comprehensive collection of items to cover a broad range of interests, ages and learning levels.

Library Amenities at a Glance
- There are 8,500 items available for loan including books, CDs, DVDs, newspapers and magazines
- A children’s area, that is complete with child size furniture and an ‘I Spy’ table
- A computer room, with 3 computer stations for free internet use, as well as reference items
- A room with our adult fiction collection that contains classics, as well as many new and up to date titles
- A room containing non-fiction, newspaper and magazine collections, complete with a comfy reading chair and a study table
Library Cards
Library cards are free to all people who live in or own property with a mailing address in Taylor. Please apply in person, with 2 pieces of identification. Identification must provide your name, signature and current address.
Your Library card entitles you to borrow all forms of eligible items:
- Books
- Audio/video materials
- Periodicals
- Free internet service
Your Taylor Public Library card is also valid within the Peace Region including Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Hudson’s Hope, Fort Nelson, Tumbler Ridge and Pouce Coupe. Their local policies apply.
It will also be accepted as your Home Card within the Province of BC, making you eligible for OneCard. Their local policies apply to this service.
Borrowing Period
The general borrowing period for books is 21 days. There are variances to the borrowing period for New Editions and other items.
InterLibrary Loans (ILC/ILL)
Want a book that we don’t have? Browse the catalogues of different BC libraries and place a hold on the item you wish to borrow through the BC Interlibrary Connect service. It will be sent to your home library at no cost to you (although some Universities and/or colleges may charge a fee to borrow their items). Alternatively, you can request to borrow it from another library in BC through ILLUME. Please note, you must have a valid Taylor Public Library Card for this service. This library has a new kind of catalogue. Looking to share, swap, or try different varieties of vegetables and/or flowers? Our seed catalogue is free. Take seeds that you wish to grow in your garden. Give seeds to this catalogue for others to enjoy.
